Childbirth Refresher Classes

Parents who are expecting their second (or third, or fourth) child often find themselves so busy and overextended
during the pregnancy that they suddenly realize they've forgotten to give much thought to the birth itself. Second-time
parents are in a uniquely experienced position to plan the birth they want; birth is no longer a mystery, and mothers
know how they labor. If the first birth was not what you had hoped for, much can be done to change things this time
around. If the first birth was close to perfect, you may just want to be reminded and re-inspired.

This private class will cover:

• The basics of labor and delivery

• What to expect the second time around----timing, emotions, logistics

• Pain coping strategies: breathing, positions, massage

• What did and what didn't work in your first labor

• How those around you might provide more effective support

• Choosing or changing care providers

• Dealing with jealousy and regression in your older child, ways
to make him or her feel included, and fostering a loving bond between siblings
